My unit is so much more relaxed than during my time of service. Gone are the days when we have to fake being busy. Gone are the days when men are fearful of warrant officers. Gone are the days of stay-in personnel. Gone are the days when we have to work on Saturdays. Gone are the days of 2.5 years of service. Gone are the days of weekly arms and bunks inspection. I have to report to camp tomorrow morning. It has been 4 years of life without regiment. I heard there was a raise in allowance for service personnel. Getting old. I have a feeling I’ll be the only 27 year old NSF in camp tomorrow.
